Mid-market rate. When you actually wire money in, the câmbio house or bank will quote a slightly different number — typically 0.5–2% wider than mid-market, plus IOF tax. Charlie's banking guide walks through how the câmbio leg works end-to-end.

How this tool works

Live rates, from the source.

These figures track the official daily reference rates published by the European Central Bank — the same benchmark banks and câmbio houses price against. We read them live, with a same-source backup so the number on screen always stays current and reliable.

Live
When you open the page, the converter reads the day's mid-market rates from the European Central Bank reference set — the public benchmark the market prices against, published every Brussels business day.
Cached
We also keep a recent copy of the same ECB rates on hand. If the live figures are ever briefly unavailable, the converter falls back to those and shows you the date they were taken — so you always know how current the number is.
ECB-sourced
Both layers ultimately point at the same upstream: the European Central Bank reference rates, published every Brussels business day around 16:00 CET. These are mid-market reference rates, not quotes — the actual price you pay or receive at a câmbio house always sits inside a small spread around them.
15 currencies
BRL, USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CNY, HKD, SGD, ILS, MXN and ZAR. That covers the currencies our buyers actually use — North America, the UK, continental Europe, Israel, the major Asia-Pacific financial centres, plus our Latin neighbours and South Africa.
Mid-market only
The number on screen is the indicative reference, not what you'd net at a bank or câmbio counter. Brazilian exchange houses typically widen the rate by 0.5–2% in either direction, then add IOF (0.38% on most international transfers as of May 2026). For a real purchase, work with the câmbio house's actual quote on the day of the wire.
Privacy
No tracking on this tool beyond the site-wide analytics already disclosed in our privacy policy. The amount you type stays in your browser — it is not sent anywhere, including to us.

This is a reference tool, not a quote. If you're actively planning a purchase, the FX rate on the day the câmbio contract is signed is what matters — not what was published yesterday. ADV can introduce you to câmbio houses that handle non-resident wire-in transactions for property purchases without the retail markup. Start a conversation.
